Mennonite Hired Hands Quilt - Circa 1910 - Waterloo County
Hired Hands Quilt in excellent original condition. This quilt has a unique assembly of men's wool suiting fabrics composed in an asymmetrical pattern. Borders of long stripes of fabric, with little thought to a cohesive arrangement, are worked throughout the outer framing of the central pattern. The centre pattern is a trip-around-the-world variation.
Size: 73" x 63". Fabrics: Wool with grey wool flannel cotton backing. The even diagonal quilting throughout the full extension of the quilt adds to the finishing touch.
